I had the pleasure of creating a live wedding painting Independence, Oregon, in the enchanting surroundings of Green Villa Gardens for the lovely couple, Stella and Gavin. The painting was a thoughtful gift from the bride’s aunt, adding a special touch to their wedding memories.
Stella and Gavin actively participated in the planning process, expressing their desire for the painting to focus on their intimate first kiss while showcasing the stunning gardens in a horizontal composition. The venue, with its magical ambiance, provided a picturesque backdrop that I was eager to capture on canvas.
Upon arrival, I immediately felt the enchanted garden vibes and, after a warm greeting to the bride, set out to find the ideal spot to set up my easel. Despite the initial challenge of direct sunlight, a strategic position under a large tree provided the perfect shaded vantage point for my painting.
As the ceremony unfolded, I took a break from my brush to witness the beautiful moment when Stella and Gavin were pronounced husband and wife. Capturing their first kiss on video ensured that no precious moment was missed. The reception that followed had a delightful and fun vibe, complete with yard games to entertain the guests.
Throughout the night, my goal was to bring the painting to near completion while engaging in enjoyable conversations with the guests, including Stella’s aunt from Germany, who was the one to hire me. By the end of the evening, the painting was at about 95% completion.
The highlight of the night was the grand reveal at the gazebo, where Stella and Gavin, along with all the guests, saw the painting for the first time. It’s always a joy to witness the genuine surprise and delight on the couple’s faces during these reveals. The couple was thrilled with the painting, creating beautiful memories captured in art.
This live painting experience at Green Villa Gardens was truly magical, and I feel grateful to have been part of Stella and Gavin’s special day. Congratulations to both of you!
